4-Days Omo Valley Tours Ethiopia

Day 1: Flight to Arba Minch – Dorze Village

Take a domestic flight to Arba Minch, a starting point for many Omo Valley tours. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to visit the Dorze people village, known for their weaving traditions and impressive beehive-shaped houses. Depending on the day, you may also visit the local market, join traditional dances, and taste local dishes prepared from the false banana plant.

Day 2: Lake Chamo – Konso Cultural Landscape – Turmi (Hamar Village)

After breakfast, begin your day with a boat trip on Lake Chamo, where you can spot crocodiles, hippos, and birdlife. Continue to Karat town to visit the Konso people, whose cultural villages and UNESCO-registered terracing system showcase one of Ethiopia’s most remarkable heritage landscapes. After lunch, drive to Turmi, the homeland of the Hamar people. Upon arrival, visit a nearby Hamar village to interact with the community and experience their daily lifestyle.

Day 3: Excursion to Omorate – Dassanech or Karo Tribe – Drive to Jinka

Today you will embark on a cultural excursion with two options: travel to Omorate to visit the Dassanech tribe, or drive to the Karo tribe, famous for their elaborate body painting and symbolic decorations. Afterward, continue towards Jinka town. En route, depending on the day, you may visit the vibrant Key Afer market and meet the Benna tribe. Visit the Mursi Tribe in their temporary settlement, renowned for the clay lip plates worn by women as a cultural symbol.  Upon arrival in Jinka check-in into your lodge.

Day 4: Mursi People – Return to Addis Ababa & Departure

Transfer to the airport for your domestic flight back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival, enjoy a short mini city tour, including a visit to the National Museum of Ethiopia. In the evening, join a traditional farewell dinner with cultural music and dance at a local restaurant. Finally, you will be transferred to the airport for your international departure.
