Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa & City Tour
Upon arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, our staff will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. Begin your full-day Addis Ababa city tour with a visit to the National Museum of Ethiopia, home to fascinating artifacts including the 3.18-million-year-old hominid fossil of “Lucy.” Continue to Entoto Mountain, where you will explore the first palace and one of the oldest churches of Addis Ababa.
After lunch, experience the vibrant atmosphere of Merkato, the largest open-air market in Africa, and explore its traditional spice market. On the way back, visit important historical monuments of the capital and enjoy Ethiopian coffee at the city’s first coffee shop. Finally, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Flight to Jinka – Ari Tribe & South Omo Museum
Take a domestic flight to Jinka, the gateway to many Omo Valley tours. Upon arrival, visit the Ari tribe village, known for their agriculture, pottery, and crafts. Continue to the South Omo Ethnological Museum, which offers insights into the unique cultures of the Omo Valley tribes. Later, transfer to your lodge for overnight stay.

Day 3: Jinka – Mursi Tribe – Turmi (via Benna Tribe)
Early in the morning, drive to Turmi town En route visit the Mursi people, famous for the women who wear clay lip plates. After your visit, them in their temporary settlement then proceed towards Turmi town. On the way, visit the Benna tribe, where children are often seen walking on tall wooden stilts, Upon arrival in Turmi, check into your lodge, and later walk to a nearby Hamar tribe village to experience their daily way of life.

Day 4: Excursion to Omorate – Visit Dassanach or Karo Tribes – Drive to Karat
Today you will have two cultural excursion options. You may either travel to Omorate to visit the Dassanech tribe, or head to meet the Karo people, well known for their intricate body painting. Afterward, continue driving to Karat town, the cultural center of the Konso people. Explore their fascinating villages and the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Konso cultural landscape, renowned for its terracing and unique traditions.

Day 5: Konso Market – Lake Chamo – Dorze Village – Arbaminch
Begin the day with a visit to the Konso market (held on Mondays), before heading to Arbaminch. En route, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Chamo, where you will witness the famous “crocodile market” and abundant birdlife. Continue to the Dorze people village, celebrated for their weaving traditions and remarkable beehive-shaped houses. Depending on the day, visit a local market, join in traditional dances, and taste unique foods made from the false banana plant.

Day 6: Drive to Awassa via Senkelle Sanctuary
Today, drive north to Awassa, stopping at the Senkelle Swayne’s Hartebeest Sanctuary to observe rare wildlife and bird species in their natural habitat. Upon arrival in Awassa, check into your lakeside hotel and enjoy some leisure time by the beautiful Lake Awassa.

Day 7: Awassa – Return to Addis Ababa & Departure
After breakfast, visit the lively fish market on the shores of Lake Awassa, where you can observe daily fishing activities and colorful birdlife. Then, drive back to Addis Ababa, which is the Ending of your Omo valley tours from Addis Ababa.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Ethiopian farewell dinner with cultural music and dance at one of Addis Ababa’s famous cultural restaurants. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
