Day 1: Flight to Arba Minch – Dorze Village

Take a domestic flight to Arba Minch, the gateway to many fascinating Omo Valley tours. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to visit the Dorze people village, famous for their weaving traditions and remarkable beehive-shaped houses. Depending on the day, you may also explore the local market, join in traditional dances, and taste local dishes prepared from the false banana plant.

Day 2: Lake Chamo Boat Trip – Konso Cultural Landscape

In the morning, enjoy a scenic boat trip on Lake Chamo, where you will see large crocodiles, hippos, and diverse birdlife. Afterward, drive to Karat town, home of the Konso people. Visit their villages, admire the UNESCO-registered Konso cultural landscape with its unique terracing system, and learn about their traditions including the ancient wooden statues (waka). You will also explore the Konso cultural center before checking in at your lodge.

Day 3: Konso – Arbore Tribe – Turmi (Hamar People)

After breakfast, continue your Omo Valley tours towards Turmi town. En route, stop at the Arbore tribe village, where you can witness their unique traditions and way of life. Upon arrival in Turmi, check into your lodge. Later in the afternoon, take a short walk to a nearby Hamar tribe village and experience their fascinating daily lifestyle.

Day 4: Excursion to Omorate – Dassanech & Karo Tribes

Today, set out on a cultural excursion to Omorate, located on the Omo River near the Kenya border, to meet the Dassanech tribe, known for their distinct cultural identity. Afterward, return to Turmi for lunch before visiting the Karo tribe, celebrated for their elaborate body painting and symbolic decorations. After your visit, return to Turmi for overnight stay.

Day 5: Turmi Market – Benna & Hamar Tribes – Mursi People – Jinka

This morning, depending on the day, you may visit either the Turmi market or Dimeka market, where several tribes, including the Benna and Hamar, gather for trading and social interaction. Continue your journey to Key Afer, where you will meet the famous Mursi people, renowned for the women who wear clay lip plates. After visiting their temporary settlement, visit the Benna tribe, where children are often seen walking on tall wooden stilts, proceed to Jinka town.

Day 6: Flight Back to Addis Ababa – Farewell Dinner

After breakfast, visit the Ari tribes and their day today activities then transfer to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa which is the ending of your Omo valley tours from Arba Minch. Upon arrival, enjoy a short city tour of the capital, visiting key highlights if time permits. In the evening, join a traditional Ethiopian farewell dinner with cultural music and dance at a local restaurant. Finally, you will be transferred to the airport for your international departure.
